30 Days -Day Five

•June 2, 2011 • Leave a Comment

My favorite memory would have to be my wedding day.  It was amazing and I have never felt so alive.  It was insanely hot that day, so much so that we didn’t bring the chairs outside until it was time for the actual ceremony.  People were sweating and it was just…..hot.  Before the wedding I was stressed like crazy.  If I’m not mistaken, I cried at least twice.  My now father-in-law sat on the floor with me talking me out of a crying fit as I was getting my hair wrapped up in hot rollers.  I will never forget that.  (Nor will I forget how I kept almost tripping every time I took a step towards Brad.)  It was an amazing day, one that will be forever ingrained into my heart and soul.  It was the day my life as a Mrs. began.  That night we drove around Lexington, Kentucky looking for a hotel (because we were broke and couldn’t afford an extravagant honeymoon).  Turns out, as our luck would have it, there was a soccer tournament going on and EVERY SINGLE hotel was booked up.  So we ate at Red Lobster, and eventually after me crying and getting upset because we weren’t going to be able to find a place to sleep, we finally found a hotel room.  Wasn’t a decently expensive hotel, rather cheap, but it was pretty inside and it worked.  We were together, newly married, and that was all that mattered.  🙂  This July 24th, we will have been married one year.

A Little Bit of Life

I know, I know.  I’ve been a bad girl.  I haven’t made a real god-honest post in quite a few days.  I won’t say a lot or make a  lot of excuses for myself because even though I’ve been going through a lot recently (and I still plan to write a post soley on that situation), I haven’t but could’ve used this blog for what I want it to be used for.  Therapy.  That’s what all personal blogs are, aren’t they?  When we have problems, or joys, or just want to share out lives with others, we make a post.  Therapy.  So here is me, apologizing.  Even though I have a very, very small readership (hopefully someday to grow), I know there are some people that do read this blog.  Some that read it just to know what has happened in my life since I’ve moved.  So to you guys, I apologize and am on my knees begging your forgiveness.  Now that that is out of the way, on to other day to day activities:

The past few days, I have gotten a whole hell of a lot accomplished.  Can anyone say “sarcasm”?

1.  I made a delicious beverage that I have termed “Cappacocoa” and shared it with a couple close friends who tried it themselves and *loved* it.

Reaping the creative benefits of a semi-coffee-cappuccino-chocolate-whatever-it-was beverage, I sat down to see what I could do with my writing.  I, unfortunately, fell victim to the procrastination bug and wrote absolutely nothing on October Rain, but hopefully I’ll become a good girl once again on the creative writing topic.  I did, however, score a cool little freelance job.  Not really steady, but hey, extra moneys coming in.  So that’s always good.  I will be writing articles for a website (will name at a later date when I have actually written one of said articles).  It’s pretty neat.  So I guess I did sort of accomplish something substantial.

2. When the hubband was away at a friends house, I made an awesome dinner just for myself.

Scampi-flavored noodles and baked beans.  Oh yes.  It was grand.

3.  The boy and I decided to go for a random drive around town.

We saw a really cool cloud that looked like it was funneling down to the ground (it really wasn’t, though).

4. Enjoyed some very beautiful and much needed sunsets.

Oh, and some streetlights.  🙂

Goodnight friends, and until next time…

30 Days -Day Four

This is supposed to be a photograph of something I wish I could forget.  In posting this photo, I in no way mean that I wish I could forget my pregnancy.  Absolutely not.  I hope to forever remember my first pregnancy, even if it didn’t turn out the way I wished it would have.  What I do wish I didn’t have to experience and remember is the pain that went along with the pregnancy.  As of this moment, I have been jabbed with needles a total of six times.  I know by some peoples standards it isn’t a lot.  But for me, a person who is very very rarely (if almost never) in the hospital/doctor, even just a couple is a lot.  I’ve had abdominal pain and bleeding since I was about 7 weeks pregnant.  I ended up having to do a low dose cancer treatment, which involved getting two shots, one in each hip.  Because of that, I’ve suffered even more abdominal pain, dizziness, and very frequent nausea.  I have had to return to the hospital roughly every two days to get my blood drawn.  Apparently, as luck would have it, the people can’t find a decent vein in my right arm.  So every single vial of blood they’ve taken has come out of my left arm.  They were literally searching around bruises to find more places to stick me.  I have a growing collection of hospital bracelets, and hopefully, one visit left.
So it isn’t the pregnancy at all.  That will forever, thankfully, be ingrained into my memory.  What I wish I could forget though, is all the pain (physical and emotional) that came along with it.

30 Days -Day Three

My favorite show is Criminal Minds (the original).  I watch it every week and always have tabs opened on Google Chrome so that I can watch episodes whenever the urge decides to kick.  Like today, ironically…

The cast includes (from left to right):  Matthew Gray Gubler, Paget Brewster, Shemar Moore, Thomas Gibson, Joe Mantegna, AJ Cook, and Kirsten Vangsness.
I know the the cast has changed but I have to admit that this is my favorite ensemble for Criminal Minds.  They just fit perfectly in my opinion.

30 Days -Day Two

This photograph was taken a couple years ago on Easter.  I couldn’t choose anyone else for this day and I couldn’t choose just one person that I “used to be close with”.  Of course the gal in the photo is Yours Truly, but the guy on the left is my uncle Chris “Bubby”, and the boy in the middle is my cousin Daniel Ray.  Missing from this photo, but not any less important, is my cousin Mitchell.  (I was only allowed to post one photo!).
As we were growing up, the four of us were very close in age, therefore we were each other’s best friends.  To play cars and Power Rangers with anyway.  We’re still close as family, but I feel like as we’ve grown we’ve lost the “friendship” that we used to have.  Two of us are married, one has a baby on the way (not me, we’ll get into that later when I feel like I can finally tackle that post), and the other is still in school.  So it’s safe to say that we all have seperate lives to lead.  But I miss our days in my grandparents’ backyard goofing off and dozing out roads in the dirt on the hill at the corner of the house.  Sometimes I wish I could go back to those days.  Or at least have pictures of them.

30 Days -Day Two (Failed Attempt Number-Who-Knows)

So I can’t do day two.  For some reason my computer is being a butt and will not let me upload any pictures.  I shall try again tomorrow….

A goodnight to all,

~Darcus.
